New England Minute~Maine

My computer has been acting crazy. We got home yesterday, but I couldn't get on the computer, so no post yesterday. I hate missing a day. Anyway, we went away for my birthday on Friday to Ogunquit, Maine. We went 2 years ago. So much fun, but the weather was horrible. It was gloomy & would be 64 & cool & rainy & then the sun would come out for a while & it would be 79. So we'd have on jeans & then change to shorts & have on our sweatshirts or raincoats & then take them off.






The night of my b-day we went to a place called Beachfire. They have a cool firepit outside. We went there 2 years ago, but it was so hot out that we sat inside. This time we got to sit by the fire. You can see that our faces look like they are melting. The fire is next to us.



Saturday we went to York beach, Maine. I've always loved it there.

I used the Kiss nail stickers for the 1st time. I hated them. They are square & ended up really bumpy. I thought the design was so pretty. The pink is Hard candy.

It's my Birthday!!!

 
Finally my birthday. I'm sure you all will be happy to not hear me talking about my b-day anymore till next year. I'm working on a 43 things to do before I turn 44. That will be posted in the next few weeks. So I'm hoping to have a nice relaxing day. Some shopping, eating & drinking.

Disney bound

 
Not so much wishing I was at Disney. More looking forward to going back to FL. I haven't been there since 2001. We are going to Disneyworld this Fall. I honestly never had any desire to go to either Disney. I've been to FL 3x & CA 4 or 5x. I've had chances to go to both, but decided not to. Hubs said that he is getting 5 day passes. Don't think I'll be going for 5 days. I want to check out the Hard Rock Cafe (Don't think I've ever been to the 1 in Orlando), Del Sol, maybe Daytona beach & maybe meet up with a few pen pals.

Nail Files. Week # 77

I did it again. I bought 3 more polishes today. Not sure what is wrong with me. I got 3 Fresh paint polishes @ 5 Below. The 1st time I bought this brand.



Anyway, below I have on Wet n' Wild Fast dry~Gray's Anatomy & Fresh paint~Dragon lady (the turquoise).

Tasty Thursday~Berry cake


 
 
Ingredients:

Two 12-oz bags frozen mixed berries
1 box white cake mix (no pudding). I used French Vanilla
1 can of diet 7-up or sierra mist (clear soda). I used Ginger ale

Instructions:

Place frozen fruit in a 9x13 baking dish. Add dry cake mix over the top. Pour soda slowly over cake mix. DO NOT stir the cake mix and the pop - this will give you a 'crust'. If you stir the two, you will hsve a cake like topping. Bake 350 for 45-50 min. You may be able to use frozen peaches instead of mixed berries. Serves 16

Note: It says to not mix it, but I had powder on top of mine after it came out of the oven. It still tasted really good.

Getting healthy/into shape is hard


I got an eliptical machine in March & started using Sensa. I've put on about 5 pounds. Plus I have IBS, so my stomach is more bloated than ever. I've been really frustrated. I went for my yearly check up today & my doctor told me to cut out all sugar & carbs. I love both. I can't do the fake sugars because they give me a headache & make me dizzy. I feel like I eat somewhat healthy. I have cereal for breakfast (I have like 10 different types) & usually eat salad for lunch. I eat yogurt with fruit & granola. My doc said not to eat yogurt because of the sugar & no fruit (I'm very picky & only like a few fruits anyway. We are going strawberry picking next Tuesday I was thinking of all the smoothies & fake strawberry shortcakes I would make). I feel like I'm eating healthy, but I'm really not. I have no energy & feel like I have chronic fatigue syndrome. I nap most days. The doctor said to try cutting out sugar or cut down & see if I have more energy. Also to exercise everyday instead of 3x a week. I'm hoping to get back into pilates (I did it today), plus the eliptical & bike riding might help. I am also going to be seeing a nutritionist again in July. I guess it takes baby steps & one day at a time. Little changes each day & cutting out foods & cutting down.
