Yum of the Day

I went food shopping yesterday & saw these. They are really good. I'm a huge fan of Wheat thins anyway.

Busy days

The month of December is so full of fun things (& some not so fun things, Tara has to get her 2 cavities filled. 2 different days. I'm so dreading that. Hoping it won't be too bad). She will be done with gymnastics & starting dance. Just in time too, since we went to the Nutcracker last night, she has been ballet dancing all over the house. She has a few birthday parties, a pot luck, I'm doing a cookie swap, the town tree lighting, her sleeping over my parent's house again, school X-mas pageant & lots more. I'm still working on organizing the house. I'm looking for a few new things to do with my hair. I seem to always wear it the same way. I want to learn to French braid soon. I'm going to see if I can find a tutorial on You tube.

The Nutcracker

Tonight we went to the Nutcracker at a high school near us. I wasn't sure if we were going to make it, because Tara has another ear infection & she had a fever. She slept most of the day & her fever went down, so we went & had a blast. There were 8 of us, Moms & daughters.

This is T & her friends Carly, Jessica & Samantha.

Lunch with Daddy

Today we went to Anthony's work & ate with him in the cafeteria. Tara has been in such a mood today. I had to get out of the house. She's been horrible. I'm so glad that Anthony is getting out of work early tomorrow & has Thurs & Friday off.

Mommy & Me Monday

The night that Tara had her hair cut for the 1st time, we went to Red Robin for the 1st time. The food was good. There was a really long wait, but they passed out onion rings & french fries. Got a pic of my girl & her new hair.

Apothederm review

I recently was asked to review an eye cream by Apothederm.
About Apothederm:

We launched our Apothederm brand of skin care products in early 2011, but the active ingredients and formulations have been years in the making.

Our patented SmartPeptides™ allow us to specifically target your areas of concern such as crow’s feet, laugh lines or stretch marks. These peptides give targeted results – they act as cellular messengers to help stimulate and restore critical functions.

What you put in your body and on your skin is important to you, and it’s important to us, too. All our Apothederm products are formulated with that in mind. They are all paraben, phthalate, and fragrance free, and they do not contain pore-clogging or formaldehyde releasing ingredients.
I got to try the hydrating eye cream.

I have used it for 2 weeks. I noticed that my eyes do seem more hydrated & the lines seem lighter. I have really bad allergies & I haven't noticed that much of a difference with the puffy/purple eyes. I'm hoping that the longer I use it, that will get better too. My eyes feel energized when I use the cream & there is really no scent to it, which is really nice. I'm looking forward to trying more of their products.

Apothederm is offering all of my readers a discount. Just enter the discount code TENOFF. You will receive $10 off any product at www.apothederm.com (expires 12/31/11). Enjoy.

Date night & Sully from Godsmack

Today Tara went to my parents house. My Dad came to pick her up. We worked on organizing her bedroom. She has so much stuff. We haven't really gotten rid of many of her things since she was born. Her closet looks so nice now. She is going to be so surprised when she comes home. Not sure how long it will stay like that. We went out for an early dinner to a nice Italian restaurant.

Right when we walked in the door, a guy went running by us. For a minute I was thinking that looks like Sully from the band Godsmack. I assumed that he went to the bathroom. The hostess told us to wait there for a minute. I was hoping he would come back while we were standing there & he did. He walked right by us & yes it was Sully. He went & sat at the bar with a few guys. I told Anthony & the hostess came back & seated us. I made sure I had a view of him. We were on the other side of the room. I should have gotten up to go to the bathroom, so I could walk by the bar. He left about 10 minutes after we got there. The waitress said it was him & that he is a regular at that restaurant. I figured we would run in to him sometime. He is local & I go to the same tattoo guy as him & he told me that he has a house in our town. There is a gated community (most of the houses in our town are gorgeous & look like mansions anyway) & that is where his house is. I think he might have more than 1 house. They showed the house when he was on Cribs on mtv. So tonight Tara slept at my parents house for the 1st time. It was a fun & interesting day.

Half full Friday

I'm happy this week because:

1. Cleaned & organized. I got a lot of cleaning & organizing done on Tuesday & Wednesday. I threw out a ton of things.

2. No Stomach flu. Happy that my daughter didn't have the stomach flu. I got a call on Wednesday that she threw up twice in school. I think she threw up cause she didn't eat breakfast or lunch. We are now getting her to eat breakfast everyday.

3. New store. I went to Hobby Lobby for the 1st time today & loved it.

4. Good deals. I went to a consignment shop & got some clothes for T for $18. I got a coat, 2 dresses & a shirt with a sparkley snowflake on it.

1) This scarf from Old Navy

2) This sweater from JC Penney.

3) These boots from Old Navy are pretty cute too.
4) Sephora OPI nailpolish

She's growing up

Tara has only been in school for 2 months & I've seen such a change in her & she's grown so much. She knows her letters really good (reading them & all), she counts everything, holds her pencil right, is getting better at coloring & staying in the lines. I'm so very proud of her.

Shutterfly holiday cards

I love sending cards just to make someone smile, for no reason. I have lots of friends that live out-of-state and pen pals. I get so excited when the holidays come around and it's time to pick out Holiday cards. I usually pick out photo cards (since we've had our daughter). I also get excited to see all of our friend's kid's photos on their cards and we display our cards each year. Last year we ordered some holiday-cards from Shutterfly. They came out really cute. We'll be ordering cards from them again this year. I think this one below is my favorite. I love pictures of hot chocolate.

I also like the one below. It's really unique.

Shutterfly also has photo-gifts, calendars, Thank you cards and lots more. Photo books and calendars are great gifts, especially for Grandparents. This year I am having a calendar made for my husband, for his desk in work, of our daughter.

Whatever photo gift you are looking for, you will find it on Shutterfly.com.

Mommy & Me Monday

This past Wednesday I volunteered at Tara's school. My 1st time at that school. We were both really excited. I had so much fun. Helped them make Thanksgiving bookmarks. I'll be helping again next Monday for the Thanksgiving party. This was before we left for school.

Furry visitor

This morning when we got up, I noticed a squirrel sitting on our back deck. He looked really cute & we ended up sitting there watching him. Better than tv.

He was eating,
Noticed us watching him,

and came over to see us.

He was literally standing up peaking in the house. It was so adorable. He did it a few times, but was so fast that I didn't really get a good pic. Hopefully he'll come back again

Half full Friday

Half Full Friday is a series of weekly posts that Eyegirl originally started in June 2009. We believe that a lot of our happiness is determined by our attitude about the things that happen to us. So by participating, I'm deciding to see the glass as half full instead of half empty; I'm choosing to concentrate on the positives instead of dwelling on the negatives. The Half Full Friday posts are a way to do just that. They're a list of the things in my life that have brought me happiness over the past week. I'm determined to find something good in each day. Are you?

For the next week, I'd like to challenge each of you to keep a list of at least one thing that brought you happiness each day. Be sure to link up here once you've posted your list! (This isn't a blog hop so please only link up if you've participated by posting your happy list. Thanks!)

This week I am happy because:

We got a free coat from Freecycle for Tara. I love free stuff. The coat is really nice & in such good shape.
I went to a Fall parent/teacher meeting. Tara is doing great. She is learning a lot & has changed so much in the past 2 months.
I got out for a Girl's night last night. Only for an hour, but I got to try a ton of yummy food & also try Skinny Girl's Sangria. It's pretty good. My friend is a Tastefully Simple consultant & had her 1st party at her house. She did great.
Did some shopping today. I picked out some pretty Vera Wang earrings for myself for X-mas (from my hubby).
Donated some stuff to Salvation army. I always feel good donating stuff. I will be bringing some coats to be donated for people in need.

Glad that the weekend is here. We're going out to dinner tomorrow night & will be having some much needed family time.

Old is new again

My Dad has been bringing up my old stuff from his basement. Some of these books I remember. The ice skating 1 is from 1977 & my skating teacher signed it & put the year in it.

He brought these dolls up. I can't remember what they are called. T wants to get them more clothes, but I don't even think they make them anymore. I think these say 1979 on the back.

All this stuff is new to her. So it's kind of cool, but some of the stuff I still have is junky, but she wants to keep it & some of it smells like my parents 150 year old basement.

My 1st Smashbook

This is my 1st Smashbook. I used a regular notebook that cost $1. I really haven't done much with the cover, but it has a nice fabric paper cover for now. I will add to it.

These are some photos from the Tesla show that we went to in May.

We went to a concert in September & I took some photos. We don't get out that often, on a date night anymore. Hubby looks so much cuter without his facial hair. He's getting ready to grow it again. Oh no.

Below is page 2 from our day in Worcester. I need to add some stuff to this page.

I love fairies & these are some of the cards that I got from friends & pen pals.

My friend went to Paris in October for her 40th birthday & she got me some postcards.

Below is a post that Elizabeth Kartchner did on her blog in reply to 1 of my questions. I printed it off of her blog. I was so excited that she replied to my question right on her blog. It was a question about making a Smashbook. She is 1 of my scrapbooking idols.

More to come.....

Better late than never

Halloween finally came to our town last night. I had bought some sparkly red shoes, when T wasn't with me, so they were too big. When I went back with her, they didn't have her size. So we returned them & She just wore her sneakers & jeans. Hubs told her that she couldn't go out till she finished dinner. It took forever & I thought she wasn't going, so we just rushed her out the door. I can finally take all the Halloween stuff down.
