Woman's world

(I'm looking at this issue above right now)

I recently discovered this magazine in a doctor's office. It has a lot of cool info. On health, fashion & beauty. The bad thing is it's crammed with so much info, it takes forever to read the whole magazine.

Falling leaves

Photobucket

That is what it is starting to look like around here. So sad when the leaves fall. I hate to see the empty trees. I'll probably take some pics this weekend of some Fall things to add on here.

What I wore

1 of my long-time pen pals, Jenn sent me this shirt, to keep, how cool. I was so surprised & excited to get this package in the mail. She also sent me another shirt. It's from Guess jeans & has some really cool rhinestones on it. I wore this shirt to a concert, that we went to a few weeks ago.

p.s. If anyone has any suggestions on some good eye products for tired & baggy eyes & dark circles, I could really use them. From my most recent photos I've noticed that I have double bags under my eyes. I'm thinking of trying cucumbers soon. We have some that we got for a salad.

Mommy & Me Monday

I'm finally posting a Mommy & Me Monday. It's been a while. I really need to start doing it again. This is of my daughter & me from this morning, when we were leaving to drive her to school.

Wow, I look so tired. Hubs was snoring last night, so that woke me up & then T woke up @ 4:30 & said that she had a nightmare. So I got all of her blankets & pillow & set her up on our floor to sleep for the rest of the night.

Costume discounters review

This year Tara decided to be Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz, for Halloween. We got this adorable Dorothy Deluxe costume from Costume Discounters.

We still have to get her some red sparkly shoes. They have tons of accessories to choose from. The costume is well made. The straps are a little big. She is 4 years old & this is a 5-6 costume. So she can always wear it again next year. She usually dresses up at least 3x each year & always wants a different costume. She can also wear it again next year. Every year I try to get Hubs to dress up. He's never dressed up for Halloween since we've known each other. I think it would be cute for us to all go out as The Wizard of Oz & T would be Dorothy & I could be the good witch (since I'm a good witch & all) & hubs could be the Scarecrow. No, he would never go for it, but they do also have adult costumes. Halloween won't be here for a while, so you have plenty of time to find anything that you might need for Halloween or just for dress up @ Costume Discounters. They have so many styles to choose from.

Werthers Original review

I am a Bzzagent Mom & I was recently sent 3 different types of Werther's candies to try.
Creamy Caramel Filled, Chewy Caramels or Caramel Chocolates. My personal fave was the caramel chocolates. They are new. Chocolate covered caramel. Caramel & chocolate go together so well. My hubby loved them the most too & said that he liked them because they were soft & not chewy. That is the 1 thing that I didn't like about the other 2, especially the chewy caramel flavor, is that they stick to your teeth. But they are so creamy & yummy that they are so worth it. I will be serving The different flavors of caramels at all of my Fall parties. So many coming up too.

We are hoping to go apple picking soon. Hopefully it won't be too late. I'm hoping to make this recipe below:

Classic Caramel Apples

50 pieces Werther's Original Chewy Caramels, unwrapped
4 Popsicle sticks
4 medium-sized apples
2 Tbs. evaporated milk

Push sticks into tops of apples. Place caramels and milk in 1qt., microwave safe bowl. Microwave on high, stirring frequently until smooth, about three minutes.

Dip and swirl apples in melted caramel mixture, using a spoon to spread evenly.

Place on waxed paper until caramel sets or refrigerate 15 minutes for quicker results. Serves 4.

Follow them on the, Werthers Facebook page.

Roots and feathers shop

I'm already making my Christmas wish list. I've been checking out some Etsy shops & saving them in my Faves folder on my computer. 1 shop that I really love is Roots & feathers shop. She also has 1 of my fave blogs, Violet Bella. I got a cute camera pendant necklace from her Violet Bella shop a while ago. Since I'm always taking pics. I always get so many complements when I wear it.

These are my fave earrings from her shop (photo via her website). I love feathers.

I wish there were more hours in the day

Lately things have been really busy around here. Now I have a lovely Fall cold too. Yuck. I did finally start some house organizing today, while T was in school. I'm really behind in things. I have 3 reviews to do & I have to write up a thing for our Mom club about our social (I'm the secretary). I'm hoping to figure out some type of daily schedule. Maybe that will help me get back on track & get caught up on everything. Does anyone have any suggestions on balancing everything? Life, Motherhood, blogging, etc... I've really been wanting to start reading again & have a book from the library & some magazines that I need to get to. I wish I was 1 of those people that could go on 5 hrs sleep. I'm so not though. I need about 10 hrs & get about 8.

Weekend recap

On Saturday we went to a craft fair. It was a pretty nice day out. I got a pair of earrings made from aluminum. They're pretty & really light. T went on a train ride & in a bouncy house.

Later that night we met some friends in Worcester, MA for a concert.

We went to a pizza place for dinner.

I hadn't been to Worcester since 2003. Back in the 80's I use to always go there to the Centrum to see shows. I'm not even sure what the Centrum is called now. I think it's the DCU center.

This is us waiting in line to get inside for the show.

Yum of the day~Apple crisp chai

I found out that a place near us has cold apple crisp chai. I knew that they had a warm version. I also found out that they have it year-round. I thought it was just a Fall thing. It's so yummy.

Colonoscopy & cooler days

Today I went for my 1st colonoscopy. My Dad had colon cancer back in 98. He's fine now. I've been trying to get a colonoscopy for about 10 years. They said that I had to wait till I was 50 because he got it when he was 60 & I had to wait till 10 years before the age that he got it. I've been having stomach probs, mostly that just seem to be IBS. I need to do lots more research on IBS. I need to figure out what foods I have to cut down on & all that. So anyway, back to the colonoscopy. I drank all the yucky stuff (last night & again this morning). My Dad drove me to the appointment. They were running behind. I was suppose to have it done at 11:45 & they didn't start till 12:52. The waiting made me more nervous. I kept staring at the clock. They gave me a heated blanket (how cool). It was freezing in there. I got to keep my wedding ring on, but took all my other jewelry off (all 7 studs from my ears. I had more, but they all get sore when I wear earrings in them) & I kept the ring that I have in my inner ear in (I've never taken it out & never will). I had a nice dream while I was put asleep for the procedure. I woke up & they gave me some ginger ale. My Dad had to leave & get my daughter from school. So they came in soon after I woke up. Before that, my doc came in & said that they had found a pollup. It was flat (not sure, exactly what that means. Maybe it was new & just starting to grow. I have a follow up appointment with my doc in a week). So they sent that off to have a biopsy done on it. I'm glad that I had it done & didn't wait till I was 50. It was chilly today. I wore my Bearpaw boots for the 1st time this Fall. My nose & hands are so cold right now. I have 2 pairs of socks on & I think I'm turning my electric blanket on tonight.

Postcrossing

I've been a member of the site Postcrossing, for a few months now. I've gotten 3 post cards so far. I just got 1 yesterday. I have 1 that I need to send out soon. Below the postcards are from Salt Lake city, Utah (the pink 1), Taiwan & Russia (the bottom 1).

It's kind of fun to see the different places that you get postcards from. Some of the stamps are really pretty too. I'll post more as I get them.

9-11

Today I had T wear her American flag shirt. I tried to explain to her a bit about 9-11. I didn't really go into details & don't think she really got it, but she's still young & I like her to be innocent for a little longer. She was a bit grumpy & didn't want her photo taken, so I made her laugh & snapped some photos quickly.

Stress

Lately I've been having some stomach issues & it seems like it all is caused by stress. I'm trying to learn to deal with stress better & be more positive. I'm thinking of maybe taking a yoga class. Does anyone have any ideas for fighting stress? I'd like to start walking more, but always feel like there isn't enough hrs in the day.

Cool camera

I always wanted to take a pic with a cool camera in the mirror. So here it is, me with my cool new camera.

p.s I'm not sure about this lipstick. I ordered it from a shop on Etsy. I think it looks better in the photo & darker in person.

1st day of pre-school

Today was T's 1st day of school @ a new school. She knows most of the kids in her class already, so it was easy peasy. No tears for either of us. I didn't get a whole lot done today. I know the 1st few weeks will be busy because I have doctors appointments. My hard-core organizing/cleaning will have to wait a bit.

This is her next to her cubby, where she hangs her coat & puts her backpack.

Easter candy in September?

Yes, sad to say, but we do still have some Easter candy left (Halloween candy from last year too). I really need to eat it or throw it away or I could just save it for a special occasion. I had planned on saving the peeps (the pink 1s) & making smores, but that hasn't happened yet.

Long holiday weekend

We haven't done much this weekend. We went to eat at a restaurant that we found on restaurant.com. They had a cool patio with a flatscreen tv behind the bar. Tara wasn't feeling good today, so we just hung out at home & she rested a lot. Hubs is off tomorrow. I might go shopping & we might go visit his parents. Lots to look forward to this week. I still can't believe that it's September. Hope everyone is having a nice Labor day weekend.

Need some new shoes

I'm not much of a shoe girl (well not high heels). I love boots, clogs & sandals. Platform shoes are my fave. Every Spring & Fall I go out & buy new shoes. I got a store flyer for Bob's stores & saw all these awesome clogs & boots.

Trying to decide if I should get these

Or these

I'll probably get these tan boots below (the 2nd from the left).
