National Believe Day with Macy's & Make a Wish

This Friday, Dec. 9 marks National Believe Day when Make-A-Wish New Hampshire and Macy’s come together to grant special wishes to kids locally and nationwide with life-threatening medical conditions. On this day, Macy’s will make a special, double donation of $2 for every letter to Santa dropped off at their stores’ big red mailboxes across New Hampshire National Believe Day.

Since early November, Macy’s has invited customers of all ages to drop their letters to Santa at their local Macy’s store or send online via Believe. Macy’s will donate $1, up to $1 million, to Make-A-Wish for every letter collected through Dec. 24. For National Believe Day on Dec. 9, Macy’s will offer a double donation, providing an additional $1 per letter to Make-A-Wish, up to an extra $1 million, above the existing $1 million campaign goal. In addition, Macy’s and Make-A-Wish will celebrate Wishes Across America by granting wishes in Macy’s stores across the country, bringing together wish kids and their families, Macy’s employees and local communities.

The Believe campaign was inspired by the true story of 8-year-old Virginia, who wrote a letter to the New York Sun newspaper in 1897 asking about the existence of Santa. The classic response, “Yes, Virginia, there is a Santa Claus …,” penned by Francis P. Church, became the most reprinted editorial in any English-language newspaper. The season also marks a major milestone, as Macy’s will celebrate $100 million in total giving to Make-A-Wish since 2003, with nearly $13 million donated through the Believe campaign. Celebrate with “Yes, Virginia” This Friday, Dec. 9, the “Yes, Virginia” animated special will air online at You Tube-Macy's. The award-winning, half-hour holiday program features a star-studded cast including Neil Patrick Harris, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Alfred Molina and Beatrice Miller in the title role. The cast also includes former wish child Taylor Hay, who had her wish granted when her voice was captured for one of the film’s characters.
I hope you can make it to Macy's tomorrow, when they will be doubling the donation or at least by December 24th. I personally love letter writing & I think it's fun & important to get kids writing letters & to believe.

My Christmas Wish List

Too Faced-Peanut Butter palette. I'm trying to decide which eye palette I want to get. I think I'll probably get Peanut butter. But I also want the Peach palette that I missed getting & it's coming out again on Dec. 14th.

This is the Peach palette. I love browns, golds, coppers & purples. I have green eyes, so all those colors look great with my eyes.

Tartlette-In Bloom palette.

Gelly roll Stardust gel pens.

Yoga pants from Old Navy.

Starbucks mug. Out of stock online though.

That's about it. I got some $ from my parents for Christmas, so I'll go pick out some things with the $.

What are you Looking Forward to in December?

Photo from Pinterest.

So it's almost December, the most wonderful time of the year. Okay, not my fave time of year, but other peoples. Summer is the most wonderful time of the year to me. Anyway, there's lots of holiday get togethers, cookie swaps, tree lightings etc... What are you looking forward to? We have our town tree lighting this Saturday, I'm going away over night to my friend's cabin scrapbooking overnight, We're going to our friend's house on X-mas eve, X-mas at our house, New year's eve at our house & not sure what else might come up in between that. Honestly out of all of that, I'm mostly looking forward to going away scrapbooking. I'm really behind & its been a year since we've gone away scrapbooking. It's nice getting away with friends sometimes.

So the Holidays are upon us again. They seem to come so fast every year and I'm not ready for them. It seems like it was just August. I'm trying to get prepared, so I'm making lists of who I want to buy for and what I want to buy for them. You always want your gift to be unique. Have you heard of Uncommon Goods? Looking for Birthday ideas? Then click here. They have so many fun gifts. I'm all about my zodiac sign and I love crystal balls, so I thought these were really pretty.

This is the item that I got to review.

Sun wind chime click here to see more details. It's so pretty and very well made and sturdy. I love the way the glass looks in the sun. We have it hanging inside our house right now because it is almost winter. I like it inside, I think it adds color. We will put it outside in the Spring. The wind chime came with a card telling the artist's story. It's nice to read a little about the artist.

Maybe you are looking for a wedding anniversary gift, click here or any other type of gift for a special person you will find it at Uncommon Goods.

**Disclaimer: I was contacted by Uncommon Goods to do a review of one of their products. All opinions written on my blog are my very own.
